A love story
To love somebody means to accept him, with al his facets, angles, with his small and big imperfections which make of him a real, realistic, vivid person.
This is how Felice Botta loves his pieces of wood, searching for them, finding and selecting them and archivating them till the moment has come to choose them for one of his works, leaving them always exactly as they are, taking nothing away, adjoining nothing.
His track, so simple and so strong, appears only in the way he combines them, he composes them with his magic lines winding between ancient pieces of wood.
And it is this the same love that gives birth, in the new monotype xylographies, aside to the artist, to another protagonist: because there is – and how strong! - in the simple and real lines the sign of the strong personality of Felice, but there is also the structure of the wood which make these lines new and different, unique, in every single piece!
This is how the monotype xylographies are born: result of a love, a real love, a unique love, a love which sometimes is almost desperate, but in any case always fantastic.
